I know it seems like I am gone all the time, but that is just the way things worked out this summer. I am leaving for Oxnard, California tomorrow where I will help my girlfriend of 68 years (yes, you read that correctly; I have known her since I was three years old) Donna Lynd Ward and her husband Sid celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Sid and Donna both attended the same high school I did in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Their lives have taken them from Oklahoma to Okinawa to California and places in between while Sid was in the Air Force. They are blessed with two sons and five grandchildren. It will be wonderful to rejoice with them and all their friends and family on the black tie sunset cruise they have planned. Some of us will go whale watching the next day. So, I will not be posting to the blog until Monday, August 9. See you then!
