I have been to four Christmas parties and exchanged “white elephant gifts” twice. I got my Pfizer booster shot today. Couldn’t get it until today because I had COVID three months ago, and you have to wait three months before you get the booster. I am going on a trip with the Addison seniors tomorrow to Granbury, a quaint small town with lots of cool shops around the town square plus a musical theater where we will see a performance. I try to do 30 minutes on the recumbent bike and 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer every day plus some yoga and weight training once a week. I baked three dozen cookies for the Everybody’s Christmas celebration tonight at my church. We invite 500 people from homeless shelters, former prisoners and Spanish speakers who take advantage of our Food Ministry. We send buses to pick up those in homeless shelters. When they walk in the door, they receive cookies and milk. Then they go to a church service that included English and Spanish. Next, they were served a barbecue dinner. I was a table host. They also receive a coat, a gift bag and a picture with Santa. It was quite an extraordinary evening. I believe there were over 100 volunteers. I tell you all this to let you know that I have been busy and have not decorated for Christmas or cleaned my townhome like I should have, and my sister Julie arrives Tuesday from Charlotte! So, I am going to take some time off. Julie will stay a couple of days, and then we will drive to Oklahoma to stay with our other sister Barbara. It will be a grand time of seeing family that includes a 1-year-old, 3-year-old, 4-year-old and 6-year-old. They really make Christmas fun. My best to everyone for a wonderful holiday time. See you next year!
